Remember about 12 years ago when we all thought we planted Monastrell and oops, 230 acres later we were all making Graciano? Yeah, that was a doozy.  Well, we finally got it right!  The real deal is finally here, and it is special.  Monastrell is the Spanish heritage clone of Mourvèdre and makes the darkest and moodiest version of my favorite grape. Dark fruit notes of black currant, ripe plum, and Persian mulberry take the forefront with an exotic array of Moroccan spices adding some complexity.  Pure, lithe, and refreshing but moody enough to stand up to richer foods.
